The Carolina Chocolate Drops!

Appearing February 19, 2009...

Come see The Carolina Chocolate Drops at the Sherwood Auditorium (located at the Museum of Contemporary Art) in La Jolla, California. Yes... they are booked and ready to play on February 19, 2009.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops are a group of young string band musicians that have come to together to play the rich tradition of fiddle and banjo music. The Carolina Chocolate Drops revive and reinvigorate old-time string band music of the kind popular among Southern Americans before World War II.

The Carolina Chocolate Drops Taking their cue from such modern masters as Mebane fiddler Joe Thompson, the Chocolate Drops play the tunes and sing the ballads once heard at frolics, corn shuckings, and square dances in the Carolina Piedmont.

The Chocolate Drops have been getting a lot of attention lately and are featured on the major motion picture soundtrack of The Great Debaters. You do not want to miss the opportunity to see this trio live!
